The Design Educates Awards (DEAwards) have been launched to acknowledge and promote architectural and design projects that significantly influence society. These awards spotlight creativity and innovation, focusing on projects completed or conceived within the past five years that embody added value beyond mere aesthetics.
Criteria for Recognition
DEAwards seeks projects that not only exhibit exceptional aesthetics but also demonstrate additional value such as educational potential, storytelling elements, stimulation of critical thinking, influence on emotions or behavior, and perception alteration.
Distinguished Jury Panel
An esteemed international jury, comprising renowned architects, designers, innovators, and educators, has been assembled to evaluate submissions. This year’s panel includes luminaries such as Prof. Toyo Ito, Prof. Masayo Ave, Prof. Rainer Mahlamäki, David Basulto, and other exceptional figures who are pushing the boundaries of their respective fields.
Ceremony Details
The awards ceremony is scheduled to coincide with the Architecture in Foyer 2024 conference at the Solarlux Campus in Germany, set to take place on September 19 & 20, 2024. Solarlux GmbH, the strategic partner of the awards, will host the event.
