Studio Motionworks is a company based in Ahmedabad, India, which focuses on multidisciplinary art works. It specializes into kinetic art and aims to further the imagination of an artist into movements.
Anuj Anjaria, founder of the company completed his bachelors in Interior Design
from CEPT University. He is a musician as well and plays the Santoor (Hammered
Dulcimer) Along with that Anuj has introduced a separate field of Space Kinematics
to further his study of movements as a Visiting Faculty at CEPT University.
ZEPHYR, wind sculpture
ZEPHYR, meaning gently flowing breeze, is a site specific wind sculpture, conceptualized, manufactured and installed by team Motionworks. Commissioned by Fluentgrid Limited, in a thoughtfully designed building by Ar. Surya Kakani, with whom we collaborated to realize this sculpture. It is located at the entrance of their headquarters at Vishakhapatnam, India.
The form inspired by the airy dalliance of butterflies, is perched atop a hill, overlooking the Bay of Bengal. The form is also a playful take on their company logo which is an abstracted butterfly.
The sculpture meditatively moves around a central post with an elegant 3 pronged base, all fabricated in electropolished SS316 stainless steel by team Motionworks.
