Global Leaders to Experience India’s Rich Art and Craft Heritage at G20 Summit

In a bid to introduce the world to India’s diverse artistic and craft traditions, the Indian government is organising a ‘Craft Bazaar’ at the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit. This unique exhibition-cum-sale platform will feature handcrafted treasures from all corners of India, providing a cultural and economic showcase for global delegates and media.

A Cultural Extravaganza: India’s Craft Heritage Takes Center Stage

More than 30 Indian states and union territories are enthusiastically participating in the Craft Bazaar, which promises to be a visual treat for attendees. These diverse regions will showcase their craftsmanship, allowing G20 delegates and media to immerse themselves in India’s rich artistry.

Supporting Local Artisans and Economies

Muktesh K Pardeshi, Special Secretary (G20 Operations), G20 Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs, emphasizes that this event is not just about display but also about boosting local economies and artisans. He states, “The Bazaar would not only promote Indian products on a global stage but also open up new economic and market opportunities for local artisans.”

Dates and Venue

The Craft Bazaar will be held at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan from September 8 to 10, 2023. This allows G20 delegates and attendees to explore and purchase these exquisite, locally-sourced products during their visit to the summit.
