Car spray paint is a specialized type of paint designed to cover any chosen vehicle’s surface. Unlike standard household paint, car spray paint can withstand harsh conditions.
Selecting the Right Car Paint Colors
If you are restoring a vintage car, classic colours like black, white, and navy blue may be the best. On the other hand, metallic shades and pearlescent hues are always on trend.
Bold colors like red or electric blue are statement pieces. Lighter colors often show dirt and scratches less than darker shades, which is an important fact.
How to Apply Car Spray Paint
You can only get a professional pristine finish if you apply the car spray paint properly and with patience. Fear not! Let us guide you through this behemoth task.
STEP 1: Preparation
Thoroughly clean the area where you plan to apply the car spray paint to remove any dirt, grease, or old paint. You may lightly sand the area. With a common masking tape, cover parts of the cars for accidental spillage.
STEP 2: Application
Shake the car spray paint and test the spray pattern on a scrap piece. Hold the can about 6-12 inches from the surface and apply thin paint coats in even, overlapping strokes.
STEP 3: Finishing Touches
Follow the drying times recommended on the car spray paint can. Usually, a coat takes about 6 hours to dry. Apply a clear coat of fixative spray over the base color.
