Ariana Richards, who was formerly well-known for playing Lex Murphy in the venerable Jurassic Park film series, has taken an interesting turn in her life. During her early career, she starred in television series like Total Security and movies like The Lost World and Tremors 3. Her performance as the inquisitive child paleontologist in Jurassic Park, however, is what won her over the hearts of viewers everywhere.
Ariana Richards was born in 1979 in Healdsburg, California, and showed early aptitude for the arts. Richards pursued her artistic studies at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where she learned from renowned Contemporary Impressionists. Her family’s artistic legacy, tracing back to early Italian Renaissance painter Carlo Crivelli, has undoubtedly influenced her work.
Richards creates vivid compositions that capture the eye by fusing imagination and reality. Richards’ paintings showcase the classical techniques of the Old Masters and the complexities of Impressionist artists like Monet and Degas. She also draws inspiration from historic painters such as John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, Mary Cassatt, and Joaquin Sorolla.
Ariana Richards’s artistic career has been met with both critical and financial success; at auction, her pieces have brought in between $313 to $1,967. In 2014, she earned a record price of $1,967 for her piece “A Timeless Moment,” which she sold at Morgan O’Driscoll.
