Hailing from Pallamkuru in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, Durgaprasad Bandi embarked on his artistic journey by pursuing his studies in Fine Arts at the esteemed MS. University of Baroda in Gujarat. It was here that he honed his skills and expanded his creative horizons, ultimately earning a Masters in Visual Arts in Printmaking in 2008. Prior to this, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Department of Fine Arts at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 2006.
Throughout his artistic career, Durgaprasad Bandi has been captivated by the interplay between figures and landscapes, infusing them with a unique blend of abstraction and anguished emotions. His artistic technique often incorporates a deliberate “Off Register” approach, creating a sense of tension and vibrancy within his subject matter. The colours and print techniques he employs exude emotive hues, further enhancing the depth and impact of his artworks.
