Abhay K Unveils Geometric Abstract Art in “Shunyata” at Alliance Française, Delhi

Abhay K, an artist, poet, editor, translator, and diplomat, is showcasing his latest collection of geometric abstract art in a new exhibition titled “Shunyata” at Alliance Française, Delhi. The exhibition, which runs until September 10, 2024, features a series of paintings that explore the intricate interplay of form and colour through geometric abstraction.

Abhay K’s artistic journey began in 2005 in Moscow and has since taken him to exhibitions in Paris, St. Petersburg, New Delhi, Brasilia, and Antananarivo. His artworks, now held in private collections worldwide, reflect a deep engagement with geometric semi- abstractions, characterised by bold shapes, precise lines, and a vibrant palette.

In addition to his visual art, Abhay K is a celebrated poet whose works have appeared in over a hundred literary magazines globally. He is the author of several poetry collections and has edited notable works, including The Book of Bihari Literature. His poem “Earth Anthem” has been translated into more than 160 languages, and he has received accolades such as the SAARC Literary Award (2013). His translations of Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara won the KLF Poetry Book of the Year Award (2020-21), and his translation of the Magahi novel Fool Bahadur was published by Penguin Random House, India.
