The inaugural edition of the residency is scheduled from September 23rd to October 7th. The event boasts a diverse range of artists, including Devi Ganguly, a visual artist from West Bengal, Pradeep Gupta, a dance artist from Chhattisgarh, and Madhu Raghavendra, a poet and one of the curators of the residency from Assam. These artists will provide an immersive experience of the UNESCO city, offering insights into its history, cuisine, art, and aesthetics. They will also conduct art workshops and collaborate with students and faculty of the Department of Fine Arts at BAMU and Government College of Art and Design in Aurangabad.
Global Perspectives: Online Talks
As part of the residency, there will be online talks open to everyone. These talks will feature discussions by four international artists and culture practitioners, including New York-based composer Evan Mack, writer Rochelle Potkar, assistant curator from the National Museum Abira Bhattacharya, and artist Niroj Satpathy. These discussions are aimed at fostering cultural exchange and exposing participants to the international art ecosystem.
Showcasing Artistic Outcomes
The residency will culminate in the showcasing of artistic outcomes on October 7th, at an event scheduled from 6-8 pm at Soneri Mahal. This event, conducted in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology, Aurangabad Division, promises to be a celebration of creativity and cultural heritage.
