This exhibition is a retrospective of Marc Riboud, one of the most celebrated photojournalists of the 20th century, showcasing over 43 rare photographscapturing the Bangladesh Liberation War, the humanitarian crisis in Kolkata, and the spirit of resilience during this tumultuous period. Riboud’s deep ties with Kolkata, dating back to 1956, allowed him to develop a rare and intimate perspective on the city, as reflected in his powerful images. His historic documentation of the fall of Dhaka on December 16, 1971, alongside the Indian Army, is one of the most significant visual records of South Asian history.
