Exploring duality within unity with her precise, intricate compositions. Khalid innovates traditional techniques; She uses the Mughal Hashiya floral motifs to represent the earth and clouds for the skies, and her expanses of geometric patterns evoke infinity, creating a spiritually charged space where power dynamics unfold. By juxtaposing arrows, hawks, and weaponry against crisp backgrounds, she compels viewers to question these symbols of authority.

One of her notable series mimics single-lined ruled notebooks, addressing colonial-era social stratification and linguistic segregation. The 2025 edition of the Fair is set to go live on 28th March.

Aisha Khalid’s works balance loss, division, and hope with deliberate contrasts, weaving geometric and floral elements into diptychs and layered narratives.

Her titles reinforce themes of duality, while her patterns invite deep contemplation, reflecting on power, spirituality, and the North-South divide. Through calculated symmetry and dynamic movement, Khalid transforms Wasli into an immersive field of inquiry.

Mamta Singhania, Founder-Director of Anant Art, says of Aisha Khalid’s practice, “Aisha Khalid’s work beautifully blends traditional Islamic patterns with modern themes, creating art that’s both visually stunning and deeply thought-provoking. She uses intricate motifs to explore social and political issues, highlighting the tension between beauty and violence.”

Aisha Khalid’s works are not devoid of social commentary Singhania says, “By placing these opposing forces side by side, her work challenges perceptions and invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of our world. Through this unique approach, Khalid makes a powerful contribution to contemporary art, positioning herself at the intersection of aesthetics and critical commentary”.
