Artist Aparneet Mann’s take on Urbanisation

It’s a Jungle Out There uses satire to explore the displacement of both wildlife and natural ecosystems, highlighting the growing tension between human ambition and environmental responsibility. The pieces vividly portray how animals are being pushed out of their natural habitats, contrasting the raw beauty of nature with the stark, consumer-driven urban landscapes that are rapidly overtaking them.

My inspiration comes from years of travel that exposed me to different cultures. It was during these travels that I truly realized how urbanization, across continents, is depleting nature and its ecosystems. My education at Shantiniketan where I developed a deeper connection with nature, also had a significant role in shaping my perspective. It reinforced my belief that the imbalance caused by urbanization is not only precarious but also irreversible,” shares Artist Aparneet Mann.

Aparneet Mann, who is from Chandigarh, plans to take It’s a Jungle Out There exhibition to the United States and Paris by next year for international audiences.

“I’m incredibly excited to bring these experiences to life on canvas and unveil my first exhibition at Museo Camera in Gurugram. I invite all art and nature lovers to come and experience my work. This exhibition is a bold critique of the impact of urbanization on nature, and I would love for anyone interested in this conversation to join me,” Aparneet Mann further adds.

In addition, the artist will be showcasing her Divine Feminine series, a powerful collection that reimagines women as spiritual forces, liberated from traditional societal constraints. Through this work, the artist challenges conventional narratives of femininity, depicting women not just as nurturers, but as guardians of nature and agents of change in their own right.
