Goutam Chakraborty’s deep appreciation for artists and their contributions stems from his upbringing in an artistic household. Influenced by his father, the seasoned artist Debdas Chakraborty, Goutam has inherited a love for the arts and a desire to nurture the artistic community. Galleri Kaya serves as a platform for artists to showcase, sell, and discuss their works, offering opportunities for both established and emerging talents to gain recognition and exposure. The gallery aims to present a wide range of artistic styles and techniques, celebrating the mastery and creativity of Bangladeshi artists.

Debdas Chakraborty’s oil painting, “Composition,” stands as a testament to his inner feelings and profound observations of life and memories. Through sweeping strokes and vibrant colors, Chakraborty’s work exudes a sense of liveliness and animation. His compositions, often based on forms and shapes, incorporate various sizes and arrangements, creating a language that may seem unfamiliar yet captivating. The interplay of colors, including green, azure, red, crimson, off-white, and yellow, infuses his works with joy and ecstasy, while the meticulous division of space adds drama and depth.

The exhibition also showcases the talents of other renowned artists, each with their unique style and perspective. Samarjit Roy Chowdhury’s acrylic painting, “Winter Birds,” features delicate geometric forms and spatial arrangements that blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality. With a focus on folk motifs and decorative patterns, Chowdhury’s work conveys a message that resonates with viewers.

Rafiqun Nabi’s watercolor painting, “Nostalgia,” transports viewers to a serene natural setting. The artist’s skillful use of light and shade creates a transcendental ambiance, evoking a sense of wonder and contemplation. In his etching titled “Rakhal,” Nabi sheds light on the often overlooked existence of shepherds in urban environments, bringing attention to their struggles and stories.

Monirul Islam’s acrylic works reflect his mastery of technique and his innovative interpretations of life. Through a harmonious balance of subdued colors, lyrical lines, and subtle textures, Islam creates enchanting compositions inspired by nature. His intricate use of symbols, doodles, and motifs invites viewers into a captivating visual language.

Syed Abdullah Khalid’s artwork focuses on the seasonal flowers of Bangladesh, capturing their vibrant colors and beauty. By distorting these scenes through abstract expressionist techniques, Khalid adds a unique touch to his paintings, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of reality and imagination.

Galleri Kaya’s 19th-anniversary exhibition is a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries and connect people from different cultures and backgrounds. Through the selection of artworks spanning several decades, the exhibition showcases the diversity of artistic expressions in India and Bangladesh. Goutam Chakraborty’s commitment to supporting artists and providing them with a platform highlights the importance of fostering a thriving artistic community. This exhibition serves as a celebration of creativity, pushing the boundaries of artistic possibilities and inspiring future generations of artists.

The collective art exhibition commenced on June 2nd and will remain open for visitors until June 17th.
