About Bhuwal Prasad in Whimsical Lines: Urban refrain through tribal abstraction

Bhuwal Prasad is from Azamgarh and received his Master’s degree from the College of Art, Delhi, in 2012.  Bhuwal Prasad is an award-winning contemporary Indian artist who was drawn towards drawing and sketching at a very young age. Bhuwal’s work emerges from a deep-rooted connection to his cultural origins. Inspired by the simplicity of vernacular art forms—where simple lines and geometric shapes hold great significance—he has created a distinctive artistic language that merges these traditional elements with the modern freedom of abstraction. His works, which include vibrant colours, bold lines, and fluid brushstrokes, explore his inner world and his external environment. Through this process, he combines a certain wonder with the richness of India’s folk traditions, creating art that is playful, thought-provoking, and full of life.

About Lal Bahadur Singh in Silent Echoes of a Flight Beyond… and whispers of the earth beneath….

Lal Bahadur Singh, born in Uttar Pradesh, has quickly established himself as a prominent voice in contemporary art. His artistic journey began in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara in Gazipur, where he first connected with the cultural and artistic practices that rooted him in rural life.  In his art, he invites viewers to reflect on the broader human experience— capturing the beauty and tension that arise as societies navigate the delicate balance between change and continuity.

In the particular series of works exhibited in the current show, Lal Bahadur Singh’s oeuvre, while devoid of human figures, pulsates with the vibrant presence of birds—parrots, sparrows, woodpeckers, and seagulls. These jewel-like creatures, meticulously rendered in brilliant hues, serve as both symbols of life’s resilience and a poignant contrast to the encroaching urbanization.
