Artist Amit Das has created a captivating series of artworks that presents a fresh and intriguing representation of cosmic energy. These mesmerizing portrayals are housed at Gallery 1000A, New Delhi. Our world greatly relies on the profound significance of both light and darkness, as they not only symbolize the ideal essence and the genuine fabric of existence but also shape the eternal rhythm of the cosmos. Amit’s process is serene, subtle, and meticulous, creating a sense of wonder in the eyes of the viewers as the work critically inquires about the magical realm. What is most intriguing is that these thoughts need not be well-considered, deep, or even profound. It is monotony that fascinates him.
Inspiration often arises from the most unexpected and deeply personal experiences. Amit’s pieces beckon spectators to immerse themselves in the captivating world of nature, as his creations ingeniously blend human emotions, storytelling, and the profound complexities of our inner selves. It is an invitation to reflect on the profound connection between the natural world and the human soul. Through his needle, he brings forth the hidden dimensions of his inner world, inviting viewers to delve into the limitless mysteries of existence. The piece is a testament to the incredible power of art, bridging the gap between emotion and expression.
Amit showcases his artistic originality through a special approach called rip art. With his remarkable talent, he expertly employs a needle instead of a brush to skillfully imprint intricate designs onto specific paper, resulting in artwork that captivates the eye with its mesmerizing illusion of depth. This special new way of creating gives his art more layers and textures.
When asked about his process, Amit explained, “Paper is not my love, it’s my passion. I believe that I’ve got some cosmic connection with the paper; it’s like a pure creation from the tree. When I started working with paper, it somewhere gave me an automatic direction to create something. The process became a fusion of the subconscious and conscious mind. My style is more intuitive, and it keeps on changing automatically, my focus is on creating a balance. Our ancient sages sat under the trees to meditate which ultimately resulted in their connection with the cosmos, so the tree or paper for that matter becomes important. When I see my creation on paper, I see my own ultimate creation. This is the profound connection I possess.”
His oeuvre finds constant inspiration in the tree’s magnificence, representing true greatness. The beauty lies in its ability to depict the harmonious interplay between the two sides of nature. It is a beautiful and magical sight. He demonstrates a remarkable ability to express emotions on the canvas through his art. Trees are a metaphor for the artist’s sentiments and aid us in comprehending them more deeply.
The collection takes viewers on an emotional voyage, illustrating the intricate tapestry of human emotions and life encounters. He deftly captures an array of emotions; utter despair to sheer bliss; sincere love to intense hatred; bafflement to ardent enlightenment. His unparalleled attention to detail and exceptional artistic abilities inspire individuals to delve into the depths of their own emotions and navigate the captivating and intricate elements woven into his artwork.
