Diverse Canvas Converges into a Unanimous Masterpiece at ‘Art for Amity’.

The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things but their inward significance.

In the modern-day multicultural ethos, while the ‘global village’ has shrunk closer, it has also become a cauldron of conflict. Art has been for ages recognised as the most congenial bridge between differing cultures and civilizations. Aesthetic values have transcended the boundaries of differentiation created due to artificial constructs and value systems by mankind against mankind. Art offers a powerful means to invoke humane values and forge a closer relationship between cultures and communities.

With this in mind, the Habiart Foundation presents the fourth edition of ‘Art for Amity’ to be unveiled at the Bikaner House. This showcase transcends boundaries, featuring a fusion of contemporary Indian paintings and sculptures. The artworks would be on display from 30 November to 3 December from 11 AM to 7 PM. The collection displays how meaningless violence has harmed us and conveys the message of peace and amity for a better future for future generations.

This initiative is a small step towards a giant goal of making the beautiful gift of life an experience worth living. The destruction of violence and conflict could be avoided if we become aware of its menace. The same energy can be used for constructive, meaningful and lasting creations. The instinctive capacity for creation and imagination, mainly in the young minds, if suppressed, can become destructive.

The exhibition is curated by Isha Mody Patodia, who has brought together an eclectic group of 50 (both renowned and upcoming) artists including but not limited to Akbar Padamsee, Bose Krishnamachari, Jatin Das, Krishen Khanna, M.F. Hussain, Paresh Maity, Rameshwar Broota, Rini Dhumal, Seema Kohli, S Harshavardhan, Sidharth, Sunil Das, Suhas Roy, Thota Vaikuntam, and Vasundhara Tewari Broota. Further, from the studio of Triveni Kala Sangam, 15 artists will also display their works.

According to Rekha Mody, “The initiative aims to gather like-minded people in art as well as create awareness about art and artefacts, the history and development all over the world, art of traditional and ceremonious tea making and much more.”

‘Art for Amity’ seeks to cultivate a harmonious dialogue through the language of art. Each piece resonates with diverse perspectives, inviting viewers to explore the interconnectedness of cultures and the beauty of shared human experiences. The exhibition serves as a testament to the power of art in fostering understanding, unity, and a sense of amity.
