“Coexistence: The Great Elephant Migration,” a month-long exhibition in Bengaluru that focuses on man-animal conflict, was inaugurated by a group of environmentalists and wildlife conservationists working together under the umbrella organisation Coexistence Consortium. To raise awareness about the invasive weed Lantana camera’s negative impacts on Karnataka’s forest ecology, approximately 100 life-size models of elephants, or Lantana elephants, will be on display throughout the city as part of the exhibition. Located in the Lalbagh Botanical Garden are sixty elephants. More than fifty seminars, nature walks, photo exhibits, and other activities are scheduled for the event.
