For First Take 2022, Abir India has received a whopping 2,200 art submissions from 309 cities across India. The exhibition is going to showcase the selected works of 148 promising young Indian artists, handpicked by a panel of reputed artists as jury through an open, transparent and democratic process.

These works have been selected through a rigorous sifting process by our esteemed panel of artists, comprising this year’s eminent Jury: G.R. Iranna, Jayaram Poduval, Manisha Parekh, Manjunath Kamath, and Ramesh Vedhanbatla.

Of the selected artists, the finest 10 have been awarded for their excellence, ideas and expressions. First Take 2022 is the 6th edition of Abir India’s annual art show. It is special in many ways. This edition is taking place in Delhi, having travelled from its original destination of Ahmedabad. With this, Abir India has taken a leap of faith and has moved to a bigger orbit. This has been made possible by the encouragement of participating artists and the special support of the jury, sponsors and well-wishers. They have shown their full confidence in the idea of Abir.

Along with the First Take 2022, Abir India is also celebrating the journeys of many artists associated with Abir so far in our show called Rekindled Spirits. Here we have picked works which were noticed from artists who have taken part in earlier editions of First Take.

Both the shows have been carefully curated by Ruby Jagrut, Founder, Abir India.

The show is on till 18th November. Do come and be a part of Abir\’s journey with the young and emerging artist.
