Indrapal is a talented sculptor from the Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, who has been navigating in the world of art since his early years. His artistic journey unfolded at the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, where he successfully earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from 2015 to 2019. Subsequently, he pursued his Master’s degree in Fine Arts at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, graduating in 2019-21.
Indrapal’s artistic expression serves as a response to his sensitivity towards prevailing social conditions. His artworks embody a fusion of personal experiences and are intricately woven with the influential threads of nature and societal environments. Each creation encapsulates a distinct reality, providing a tangible representation of the nature and activities prevalent in a specific time and society. Through his art, Indrapal offers to a genuine assessment of the reality that defines the era or community he portrays.
Versatile in his craft, Indrapal has explored a myriad of artistic mediums, including stone, wood, bronze, fiberglass, terracotta, mixed medium, concrete cement, and installation art. Each medium possesses unique characteristics that are skilfully harnessed by the artist within defined boundaries, showcasing the diversity of his creative prowess.
Indrapal’s dedication and artistic excellence were acknowledged when he was selected for the National Scholarship (HRD) by the Ministry of Culture, India, during the academic year 2019-20. Furthermore, his contributions to the art world were recognised at the 93rd and 94th Annual All India Art Exhibition, AIFACS New Delhi, in 2022.
