Visions of the landscape: Bikash Poddar’s Artistic Methods
Bikash Poddar’s creativity is distinguished by his combinations of the fluidity of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy techniques with the fine details of Indian miniature painting. Bikash Poddar’s landscape paintings frequently include placid rural settings with well considered architectural details and a translucent glow, such as abandoned temples, dilapidated houses, and boats by the river. The essence of nature and human presence are delicately balanced in these compositional mixes.

Bikash Poddar uses the wash technique to paint on wet paper, letting the colors flow together harmoniously and produce ethereal moods. Since the water dries fast, this technique necessitates speedy execution, fast moving hands, making it difficult for the artist to finish his vision in the allotted time. So the composition is always evading the artist.
