Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), has unveiled the third edition of ‘Art for Hope,’ a program designed to support Indian artists. The grant application is open to all Indian artists until December 9, 2023.
In the previous two editions, ‘Art for Hope’ has awarded 60 grants to artists from 20 states, enabling them to execute projects focusing on environmental, social, and community-centric themes. Public exhibitions held in New Delhi’s Bikaner House and Chennai’s InKo Centre garnered a cumulative footfall of over 5000 people.
Puneet Anand, AVP and Vertical Head – Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., expressed Hyundai’s commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation. The initiative aligns with Hyundai’s global Creating Shared Value (CSV) philosophy of ‘CONTINUE,’ aiming to make a meaningful change for future generations.
Anand highlighted the introduction of a special grant, ‘Ability for Dignity,’ as part of the ‘Samarth’ initiative. This grant specifically supports differently-abled artists, offering not only financial assistance but also upskilling opportunities and avenues for sustainable income generation.
‘Art for Hope 2024′ is open for grant applications in Visual Art, Digital Arts, Performance Arts, Folk and Traditional Arts, and Community Arts categories for both individual artists and collectives. Following the grant, an art festival showcasing the artworks and grant projects will be hosted in New Delhi.
A five-member jury will select grantees based on project concepts, artists’ backgrounds, and the community impact of the projects. The application period for ‘Art for Hope 2024’ is open until December 9, 2023, with the expectation of making a positive impact on the lives of deserving individuals and uncovering hidden talents across the nation.
