The Art House (TAH) and the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) are excited to announce that in 2023, artists living and working in Commonwealth (or former Commonwealth) countries, the US, EU and EEA countries, or Switzerland who have not yet exhibited or worked in the UK, will once again have access to this amazing UK-based residency opportunity.
TAH’s purpose-built accessible studios in Wakefield are available for two-month supported residencies. TAH and ROSL are looking for ideas from artists interested in applying. The chance is to advance the careers of artists who are based abroad and who haven’t yet performed or shown their work in the UK. The chosen artist(s) will receive curatorial and technical assistance if necessary, but they are not obliged to create an item or mount an exhibition.
All forms of modern visual art practice, including photography, new media, fine art, artists’ moving image, sculpture, live art, crafts, design, and architecture, as well as site-specific, socially engaged, and interdisciplinary practices, are encouraged to submit proposals. ROSL and TAH are dedicated to advancing modern art practice and related critical discourse. The residency is interested in submissions from artists at all stages of growth but is especially looking for those who want to experiment, innovate, and broaden their practice.
The ROSL and TAH Programme Team will speak with the shortlisted artists in an initial online discussion to talk about their goals for this residency as well as any potential needs for additional support. In the event that any part of the offer needs to be modified to meet the requirements, both organisations are willing to discuss flexibility.
The application deadline is Monday, April 10, 3:30 pm IST. Click for more details
