Rooftop, India’s leading online learning platform for live art workshops and professionally curated art courses is set to take art enthusiasts on a journey through India’s rich cultural landscape with its inaugural exhibition, “Indiyart.” This exceptional showcase will bring together nine renowned traditional Indian art forms, each telling a unique story and reflecting the deep cultural roots of the nation. Scheduled to run from September 16th to 19th, 2023, at the Kalamkaar Gallery, Bikaner House in New Delhi, this exhibition promises to be a visual and cultural treat for all who attend.
A Celebration of India’s Artistic Diversity
“Indiyart” is a tribute to India’s diverse art heritage, showcasing the artistry of around 30 master artists from various traditional Indian art forms. The exhibition is an example of the beauty and diversity of Indian culture, offering visitors a chance to explore nine distinct art forms, each with its own unique narrative and style.
From the simplistic elegance of Warli art to the intricate devotional art of Mata ni Pachedi, “Indiyart” takes attendees on a journey across India. The exhibition traverses the pious land of Nathdwara’s Shrinathji, delves into the tales of Pabuji from the West, and immerses visitors in the arts of the Bhils and the Gonds, characterised by their intricate use of dots, lines, and patterns. Moving eastward, visitors can explore the magical Madhubani paintings before venturing towards the southern lands of Telangana to discover the Cheriyal scrolls. Each art form is a window into mythological themes and unique storytelling and worship traditions.
