Samsung Collaborates with Terrain.art to Showcase Contemporary Indian Art on The Frame TV

Samsung, the global No.1 television brand for 17 years, has recently added Indian contemporary artwork to the art store of its lifestyle TV, The Frame. The Frame is not just a television; it transforms into a piece of art when it’s turned off, offering a unique and immersive experience for art enthusiasts.

In collaboration with Terrain.art, a blockchain-powered online platform that promotes the best art practices from South Asia, Samsung has made beautiful contemporary artworks accessible to its consumers. These artworks, created by young Indian artists, are a contemporary representation of Indian monuments, folk art, textile traditions, diversity, and more. With bold brush strokes, vibrant colours, and intricate lines, these artworks explore themes such as ecology, futurism, migration, and hope, expressed through various artistic languages.

The Frame TV, designed with customisable bezels and slim edges, adds a touch of luxury and aesthetic appeal to consumers’ living rooms. It replicates the experience of visiting a real-life art gallery, bringing the beauty of art into the comfort of one’s home. The matte display and accurate colour reproduction of The Frame TV ensure that consumers can enjoy the fine details of the art pieces with precision and clarity.

Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung India, emphasised how The Frame TV revolutionises the display of art in living spaces and art galleries through digital technology. The QLED technology powering The Frame TV delivers brilliant picture quality, creating an immersive in-home entertainment experience. Singh also highlighted the collaboration with Terrain.art as a demonstration of Samsung’s vision to connect art lovers, local artists, and global artists through technology.

Aparajita Jain, Founder of Terrain.art, expressed how today’s artists embrace innovation to showcase their work and reach a wider audience. The partnership with Samsung allows Indian art forms to adorn the homes of individuals, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the country through an outstanding blend of art and technology.

The Frame TV offers not only the collection of artworks from Terrain.art but also a vast art store with over 2,100 modern, classic, and contemporary artworks from renowned and emerging artists. Consumers can also display their personal photos on The Frame TV, allowing them to reminisce fond memories when the TV is not in use.

The key features of The Frame TV include an anti-reflection matte display that minimises glare and distractions, customisable bezels that allow consumers to create the right mood for their space, and QLED technology that delivers lifelike picture quality with a billion shades of brilliant colour. Quantum HDR enhances the range of colours and contrast, showcasing every fine detail in movies and shows. The Frame TV also features smart display capabilities with built-in motion sensors, activating the Art Mode when the TV is turned off, transforming it into an exhibition of art or personal photo collections.

With Samsung’s commitment to integrating art and technology, The Frame TV offers a unique platform for artists to showcase their work and for consumers to appreciate and engage with art in their daily lives. By embracing innovation and collaboration, Samsung and Terrain.art aim to make India’s diverse art forms accessible to a global audience, celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage and fostering creativity and artistic expression.
