Mimmo Rotella, the Italian artist and poet born in 1918, is renowned for his “double décollages,” collages crafted from torn advertising posters. He was associated with the Lettrism movement and Les Affichistes, pioneers of Street Art. Rotella’s first solo exhibition was in 1951, and he later joined the New Realism movement in 1961. He represented Italy at the 1964 Venice Biennale. Rotella passed away in Milan in 2006 at the age of 87.
