Dotwalk is dedicated to creating an environment for art that is centred on authenticity and integrity, that acts as the nucleus for budding artists, communicates with art lovers across the world through technology, and enhances the art world.

In regards to appreciating and promoting art, Gallery Dotwalk has taken it a step further with their debut movie titled ‘The Other Faces’ which will be previewed on the 28th and 29th of April 2023 at Jawahar Bhavan, Delhi. The movie explores the intricacy of the sculptor Ravinder Reddy’s artistic thought. Premjish Achari, a curator, art critic, and author, directed this thoughtful movie that takes the audience through amazing panoramic images and powerful close-ups. The shooting for the movie took place largely in and around Mr. Reddy’s studio in Visakhapatnam.

Gallery Dotwalk writes about the project, “The film is our attempt to depart from a conventional documentary format to navigate through the complex interplay of passionate artistic process, rigorous thinking and keen observation of the iconic sculptor Ravinder Reddy.” Produced by Gallery Dotwalk, the film provides a fascinating peek into Reddy’s world and emphasises the need of accepting our genuine selves. It is an amalgamation of aesthetically stunning visuals, with tranquil vistas and cosy studio settings.

The foundation of Ravinder Reddy’s spectacular sculptures is his keen insights into the South Asian sculptural past. Viewers are transported by his focus on the core of the sculptural form, the tactile quality of hues, and the grandeur of decoration rather than just simple reproduction. The artistic process of this genius has been beautifully captured in the film ‘The Other Faces.’

Born in Suryapet, Andhra Pradesh, in 1956, Ravinder Reddy earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in sculpture, and a master’s degree in creative sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, among other short diploma courses. He is one of the most significant modern Indian sculptors, and his distinctive style has earned him recognition from art critics all over the world. His art is heraldic; Ravinder’s sculptures frequently feature larger-than-life heads. Whether represented as enormous heads or realistic, sensual sculptures, his work is a celebration of the female form, captured by his attention to detail as well as his admiration for the feminine. Red, yellow, blue, and gold make up the colour scheme in his artworks. The women of Reddy have fascinating eyes that are always straight, fearless, and unconstrained.

Apart from these, he has also been part of group exhibitions in cities like New York, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chicago, among many others.

It is only fair to say that Ravinder has carved out for himself an incomparable position in Indian art throughout the course of a four-decade-long career in the arts.
