Pratiksha Apurv was born in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh on February 26, 1964, to Vijay Bharti, the younger brother of the spiritual leader later known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh or Osho. In fact, Apurv also took sanyas at the age of 11 and started living at Pune commune. Later she moved to USA and stayed at Rajneeshpuram in Oregon in 1982.
Returning to Delhi in 1985, she launched her fashion brand Oshonik for some years, but quit this industry in 2003 and started painting.
Apurv also went on to win the National Award 2015-16 for her painting titled Cosmic Balance.

Apurv\’s paintings are full of religious imagery, spiritual icons, and abstract symbols, which she calls \”an ongoing rendering of her spiritual journey\”.
She often has contemporary figures silhouetted against a colourful backgrounds featuring
Some works have strong overtones of Tibetan influences such as \”Jalpari,\” which has a colourful mythological figure rising out of the water against an elaborately detailed sky.
She says her paintings reflect the messages of Gautam Buddha, Krishna, Meera, Kabir, Nanak, Shiva, Sufis, Jesus, Islam, Zen and the Upanishads.
