Born in South Parganas Sundarban in 1984, Priya Ranjan Purkait has done graduation from Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship, Kolkata and post graduation from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Fabric plays a vital role in his works, acting as a subject and metaphor. He tries to explore the nuanced values attached to clothing in its proximity to the human body as the witness to various human situations.
