Gigi Scaria, born in 1973 in Kothanalloor, Kerala, is a distinguished contemporary artist based in New Delhi. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram, and a Master of Arts from Jamia Millia Islamia, he quickly gained international recognition with exhibitions and residencies across India, Germany, the U.S., and beyond. Scaria’s diverse body of work spans painting, photography, installation, sculpture, and video, often exploring themes of urbanization, social change, and memory. His career highlights include representing India at the 54th Venice Biennale, showcasing solo exhibitions such as “City Unclaimed” at the Smart Museum of Art, Chicago, and participating in major art festivals like the Kochi Muziris Biennale.
