Associate Professor of History of Art, Sylvia W. Houghteling, has been awarded the esteemed R.L. Shep Book Award by the Textile Society of America for her groundbreaking work, The Art of Cloth in Mughal India. This prestigious accolade, presented annually, celebrates outstanding contributions to the field of global cultural heritage textile studies. In addition to the R.L. Shep Book Award, Houghteling’s magnum opus was also honoured with the Charles Rufus Morey Award from the College Art Association in 2023.
